Mathieu Marcil

Current councilor for District 3
and candidate in the 2025 election

Mathieu Marcil is running for a second term in the 2025 municipal elections in Saint-Bruno, representing District 3 – Du Boisé Sabourin.

Mathieu Marcil is the owner of a financial services firm in Saint-Bruno, a financial planner, and a university graduate in urban planning. He aims to continue leveraging his expertise in urban planning and finance for the municipal management of Saint-Bruno.


With over 16 years of experience in financial planning, including seven years as a director at a major Canadian financial institution, he now operates his own independent practice. He holds a bachelor's degree from the Université du Québec à Montréal and a financial planning certificate from the same institution.


In 2011, Mathieu Marcil won the Prix de la Relève, awarded by the Chambre de la sécurité financière. He is also a recipient of the Abe Stern Scholarship for academic excellence in 2001 and 2002. Committed to his community, he has volunteered for several years as a member of the urban planning advisory committee.

A municipal councillor since 2021, Mathieu Marcil is currently responsible for urban planning within the municipal council. Among his major achievements for District 3 are:

  • Protection of Boisé Sabourin
  • Revitalization of Elizabeth-Lochtie Park and the addition of water play areas (planned for summer 2025)
  • Construction of a new chalet at Jacques-Rousseau Park
  • Complete refurbishment of Montée Sabourin and the addition of a bike path Implementation of a new online permit system
  • Adoption of bold regulations to preserve the city's character
  • Improved safety at the intersection of Route 116 and Boulevard Seigneurial
  • Regulation banning commercial solicitors Building on these achievements
